Florida Chapter Webinar: An Auditor’s Responsibility for Fraud

Oct 7, 2025 - Oct 8, 2025• 12:30pm

The AIG is proud to present the Florida Chapter Training, which will take place over the course of two virtual training sessions on Tuesday, October 7 and Wednesday, October 8, 2025. This virtual course, titled “An Auditor's Responsibility for Fraud,” will consist of two 4-hour sessions delivered live via Webex. Each session will include live instruction by Leita Hart-Fanta, CPA and Founder of Yellowbook-CPE.

Program Description

The Yellow Book (Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards) places responsibility on auditors to design their audit to detect fraud. But what does fraud look like? What techniques can you use to find it? And how does it rear its ugly head in the government environment?

In this course, we will discuss the taxonomy of fraud as well as how to detect fraud during an audit and how to thoroughly document your work.

Learning Objectives

  • Apply Yellow Book, AICPA and IIA requirements regarding fraud to your engagement
  • Distinguish between fraud, abuse, and non-compliance
  • Explain what to look for using the CFE’s fraud tree and fraud triangle
  • Apply fraud risk assessment techniques recommended by the AICPA
  • Design resulting audit tests that target fraud

Who should attend: Auditors conducting audits under GAO’s Yellow Book Auditing Standards

CPE Credits: Attendees may be eligible to receive up to 8 CPE credits in Auditing (Governmental)

Program Knowledge Level: Basic

The training will be held on Webex from 12:30 – 4:30 PM (Eastern Time)/11:30 AM-3:30 PM (Central Time)/9:30 AM - 1:30 PM (Pacific Time) on both days.
