July 17, 2026

AIG Board of Directors Secretary Lora Manon announced today that EIGHT (8) vacancies will exist for the Board of Directors as of December 31, 2026. These vacancies have been declared in accordance with the Association’s Bylaws and Constitution. Please read the letter below from the AIG Board Secretary and instructions on submitting a nomination.

-------------------------------------------------------

Dear AIG Members:

As the Secretary for the Association of Inspectors General, it is my responsibility to notify the membership of this organization that EIGHT (8) vacancies will exist for the Board of Directors as of December 31, 2026. These vacancies have been declared in accordance with the Association’s Bylaws and Constitution.

The purpose of this letter is to provide the membership with information concerning the nominations and election processes that will be used to fill these Board vacancies. Please note that you must be a member in good standing in the National organization in order to participate in the election, either as a nominee/candidate or as an elector.

  1. Any member may nominate a member of the Association of Inspectors General to serve as a candidate for one of the vacant positions on the Board of Directors. This applies only to members of the national organization.
  2. A member may nominate himself or herself. A member may also nominate more than one individual. Chapter only members may not be nominated and may not nominate either themselves or others.
  3. A nominee for the Board of Directors is required to have been a member of the National organization for membership year 2025/2026; dues for the 2026/2027 membership year must be paid in full at the time a member is nominated for candidacy.
  4. A nominee must have been a member of the national AIG for one year before he or she may be nominated for election to the Board. (Note: A paid registration fee for the annual training conference or for an Institute® DOES NOT include payment for annual dues. Please make sure that your dues have been and are paid in full.)

To place a member in nomination, please use the Recommendation and Nomination Form that is linked here or below. Complete a separate form for each person you wish to nominate.

In addition, each nominee shall prepare a brief (no more than one page) biographical sketch, which provides, in paragraph form, the nominee’s experience and expertise to serve on the Board of Directors. Resumes or similar documents will NOT be accepted.  The biographical sketch for each nominee shall be notarized. DO NOT submit photos.

Both the Recommendation and Nomination Form and the biographical sketch documents should be returned to me by mail or by email. Nominations must be received by August 20, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. ET by Lora L. Manon, Secretary, Association of Inspectors General at 803 S. Beech Street, Bryan, Ohio, 43506.  Nominations may be submitted beginning on Monday, July 20, 2026. Electronic submissions may be sent to election@inspectorsgeneral.org

Nominations received after August 20, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. EST will NOT be valid and will not be accepted or considered. Likewise, nominations submitted to any other address or email address, including the Association of Inspectors General office will NOT be accepted, and will be considered invalid.

All members eligible to vote will receive an electronic ballot after the meeting of the Nominating Committee, which will occur in September 2026. Ballots will be sent to ONLY those individuals who were members with dues paid for this current membership year (2026/2027) and the membership year immediately preceding this election (2025/2026).

All ballots must be voted promptly and in accordance with the instructions provided with the ballot. You should receive your ballot in late September or as otherwise directed by the Nominating Committee. Please make sure that you have updated your contact information with the Association to ensure receipt of your electronic ballot.

The AIG 2026 Annual Meeting of the Members and the Fall Meeting of the Board of Directors will be held in Miami, Florida, on October 27, 2026. The results of the election will be announced at the Annual Meeting and then made available to the membership.

All elected members of the Board of Directors serve a three-year term. The term of office for those selected during this election begins on January 1, 2027. All members of the Board of Directors are expected to attend Board meetings; in the event that a member is absent for more than two (2) consecutive meetings, his or her position will be declared vacant. The Bylaws also require that any member elected to the Board of Directors must attend at least one of the two Board meetings that occur following his or her election to the Board.

If you have questions about this matter, please contact me by telephone at 419-266-4212 or email at lora.manon1@gmail.com.

Sincerely,

Lora L. Manon,

Secretary

Association of Inspectors General
