Illinois Chapter

Formed in 2001, the Illinois Chapter of the Association of Inspectors General (AIG-IL) connects investigators, auditors, attorneys, analysts and other professionals from Illinois’s local Inspector General offices. The AIG-IL works to provide its members with opportunities for professional development, networking, and the exchange of ideas and insights.

Throughout the year, AIG-IL offers regular CLE/CPE-qualifying training seminars for its members on a host of topics including investigative and audit best practices, current legal issues, writing skills, and case studies. The AIG-IL also publishes a quarterly member newsletter with links to recent publications from various IG offices, job postings, and guest articles.

The AIG-IL promotes the standardization and adoption of effective, ethical, and efficient investigative techniques and practices, audits, and program reviews, the establishment of professional qualifications, certifications, and licensing, and encourages policy research and analysis.

The AIG-IL is affiliated with the National Association of Inspectors General and shares its goals of fostering the accountability of governmental/public bodies through the investigation and prevention of waste, fraud, and abuse. Together, the AIG-IL and its members work to ensure that Illinois’s public bodies serve their constituents ethically, fairly, and efficiently.
