The Association of Inspectors General (AIG) is seeking a highly qualified Program Manager, Peer Review. The AIG is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and nonpartisan organization that represents thousands of members working in hundreds of Offices of Inspector General (OIGs) across nearly all 50 states, U.S. territories, and internationally. AIG advances accountability, integrity, and effectiveness in government and the public sector through professional training, certification, peer review services, and the development of professional standards for the inspector general community.

Position Summary
The Association of Inspectors General (AIG) seeks a highly organized and results-oriented Program Manager to lead the administration, development, and growth of AIG's Peer Review Program. This position will schedule peer review engagements, support volunteer review teams, coordinate reviewer training, oversee program administration and financial processes, and develop the systems, tools, and resources necessary to strengthen and expand the program.

The successful candidate will possess exceptional organizational, project management, and communication skills and will be comfortable developing systems, standard operating procedures, training resources, and other program infrastructure that promote consistency, quality, and long-term program success.

This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position established to support the continued growth and development of AIG's Peer Review Program. The initial appointment is for a two-year term, with the possibility of extension based on program needs, performance, and available funding. As this is a newly expanded program area, the position offers a unique opportunity to help shape the future direction, growth, processes, and long-term sustainability of one of AIG's flagship services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Program Management

  • Coordinate and manage AIG peer review engagements from scheduling through delivery of results.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for participating agencies and review teams.
  • Track project timelines, deliverables, and key milestones.
  • Maintain peer review records, reports, and program metrics.
  • Coordinate invoicing, billing, and related administrative activities for peer review engagements.
  • Monitor engagement expenses and assist with tracking program revenues and costs.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned in support of AIG's programs, services, and strategic initiatives.

 Reviewer Support and Training

  • Recruit, coordinate, train, and support volunteer peer reviewers and subject matter experts.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive volunteer management database to track reviewer qualifications, training, availability, assignments, and participation.
  • Assist in the development of training programs for peer reviewers.
  • Coordinate onboarding and maintain reviewer qualifications and training records.
  • Organize webinars, workshops, and other professional development opportunities.

 Process Improvement and Program Development

  • Develop and maintain peer review manuals, templates, checklists, and standard operating procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve and expand AIG's Peer Review Program.
  • Create new tools, resources, and processes to enhance program quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
  • Support implementation of quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain program resources and documentation to ensure consistency across reviews.
  • Assist with strategic initiatives designed to strengthen and grow the Peer Review Program.

Committee Support

  • Support Peer Review Committee meetings and initiatives.
  • Prepare reports, meeting materials, and follow-up action items.
  • Assist with special projects related to the growth and improvement of the program.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in public administration, business administration, accounting, auditing, criminal justice, public policy, nonprofit management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two years of professional experience in project management, program management, auditing, inspections, investigations, oversight, compliance, training, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience developing training materials, procedures, manuals, templates, or operational documentation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related business software.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and external stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with an Office of Inspector General, audit organization, government agency, professional association, or nonprofit organization.
  • Experience supporting peer review, quality assurance, accreditation, compliance, or similar programs.

HOURS OF WORK:

General hours of work are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Exempt from overtime compensation. Thirty-five (35) hour minimum per work week.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires the ability to travel domestically as needed to support peer review engagements, Inspector General Institute programs, the Annual Conference, and other organizational activities. Travel is generally limited to approximately 5% annually and may include occasional overnight travel.

SALARY:

Salary Range: $60,000-$75,000
