The Office of the Special Commissioner of Investigation for the New York City School District (“SCI”) is seeking an experienced, self-motivated candidate to serve as the Chief Information Officer (“CIO”) who will oversee the agency’s IT Unit, and be responsible for the office’s cyber-security efforts and other efforts to reduce risks to SCI’s online profile.  The CIO will ensure that the agency IT Unit is properly staffed and managed, and ensure compliance with city-wide information security policies.  The successful candidate will collaborate with the Commissioner and agency leadership to develop and implement a cyber security protocol to support the agency’s mission and operational needs, and will implement processes for continuity of operations.  There will be wide latitude for independent initiative, judgment, and decision-making, the creation and implementation of policy, planning, and design of office-wide computerized information systems.  The CIO, who will also serve as the agency’s Chief Information Security Officer (“CISO”), will consult with office executives to assist in determining priorities for related budgeting, and will collaborate with agency leadership in overseeing the technical, financial, and security evaluations of both in-house and vendor-developed cyber-security and technology solutions.  Significant knowledge of city-wide and agency standards and procedures, and security and control methods / systems, a must.

HYBRID OFFICE / REMOTE WORK SCHEDULE AVAILABLE AFTER INITIAL TRAINING PERIOD.
