The Association of Inspectors General is engaged in Atlanta, GA, where the City Administration and City Council have tasked a Temporary Task Force (TTF) to review and make recommendations on the operations of the independent OIG. The TTF was created without any notice to the OIG and was given 45 days to complete their work.
The AIG sought to engage the process on 09/09/24, receiving a response on 10/03/24 with an offer to testify in person for 10 min on 10/07/24. The AIG responded through correspondence making a series of observations and recommendations designed to transform the process to one that has ample time to work, incorporates OIG subject matter experts and practitioners, and enhances public engagement.
The AIG represented thousands of members working in hundreds of Inspectors General offices across the United States and internationally.
