How It Works
Follow a simple path to become certified and advance your career.

Choose Your Certification Program – CIG, CIGA, CIGI, CIGE, CIGC

Register for an Inspector General Institute – Offered in March and August
3
Attend the In-Person Training – 5 days of expert instruction
4
Pass the Final Exam – Receive your official certification from AIG
When and Where You Can Get Certified
Institutes are hosted two times per year – typically in March and August – with rotating locations. In-person attendance is required to complete the certification process.
All AIG certification programs are open to professionals working in or with Inspector General offices. Each program track may recommend different levels of experience or area-specific responsibilities. Visit individual program pages for more details about requirements.
