Senior Inspector General

Office of the Inspector General for the High-Speed Rail Authority

Under the general direction of the Deputy Inspector General of Audits and Reviews (Audits Deputy), the Supervising Management Auditor (Audit Supervisor) will oversee the planning, fieldwork, and reporting of audits and reviews of the multi-billion-dollar high-speed rail project.  These audits and reviews will provide oversight of highly technical areas, including the High-Speed Rail Authority’s (Authority) parametric cost estimates, cost controls, project schedules, risk management, change order management, and economic benefit and projected ridership calculations.  The Audit Supervisor will also oversee critically important audits and reviews of the Authority’s procurement and contractor oversight processes, as well as its efforts to identify, obtain, and effectively management federal funding for the project.  In performing these audits and reviews, the Audit Supervisor will not only ensure that the Authority is providing required transparency to external stakeholders, including the Legislature and Governor’s Office, but is also effectively implementing these functions and processes in ways that maximize the efficiency and utility of the high-speed rail project.
