The Office of the Inspector General’s (OIG) mission is to help Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) achieve its core mission by promoting a culture of accountability, transparency, collaboration and integrity through the performance of audit and investigative services designed to drive continuous improvement, support effective decision making and detect and deter waste, fraud and abuse. The LAUSD-OIG is a member of the Education Fraud Working Group, which includes local, state and federal law enforcement partners. The LAUSD-OIG is currently recruiting a Digital Forensic Investigator.

The Digital Forensic Investigator conducts specialized digital forensic investigations by analyzing hardware and software for digital evidence, prepares evidentiary reports of findings; and as needed, testifies as to findings.

The minimum requirements are (4) years of experience using current computer forensic hardware, software, and methodologies to conduct digital forensic examinations preferably regarding criminal, civil, serious policy violations and/or child exploitation cases. Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a closely related field. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis for up to two years.

Salary range: $40.36 to $ 50.27; Hourly
