Anticipated salary range: $26.84 – $31.25 hour ($55,827.20 – $65,000)

Entry as a Staff or Senior Investigator will depend upon education and related certifications and experience.

An Investigator conducts internal investigations which may include complaints falling under the Whistleblower Act. Reviews complaints received, develops comprehensive investigative action plans that outline appropriate techniques to gather and assess evidence, conducts investigations, interviews and obtains sworn statements, interprets and applies state statutes, City policies, and rules related to allegations of fraud, waste, abuse, mismanagement, or misconduct.

· Knowledge of investigative techniques and interview skills

· Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality, make sound decisions, and apply good judgment

· Able to accurately document observations and actions

· Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

QUALIFICATIONS
· Staff Investigator: Bachelor’s degree and three years of investigative team member experience with one year spent in an Office of Inspector General, Internal Affairs, or similar/equivalent preferred. Must be eligible to become a notary public in Florida. A CFE and/or CIGI is preferred.

· Senior Investigator: Bachelor’s degree and three years of investigative  experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Must be eligible to become a notary public in Florida. Must possess a CFE and/or CIGI.
