Responsible for designing and implementing programs, policies and practices to ensure that the food bank is in compliance with internal, federal, state, and local regulatory requirements; ensure compliance with contracts, document processes and systems, perform risk analysis of processes and systems, develop internal audit programs to address key risks, and monitor internal controls and processes on a regular basis; Manage electronic contract process and library; and Prepares compliance reports to present to management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. This list is not all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.

Ensure compliance with all contracts, agreements, MOUs, etc.
Ensure compliance with Feeding America guidance, relevant local, state, federal laws and regulations.
Establish and update a compliance manual.
Document, review, test and assess operational processes, systems and internal controls.
Perform Risk Analysis of processes and systems and define risk for each functional area.
Develop and implement the organization’s internal audit plan to address key risk areas and to safeguard business assets and data.
Develop and implement effective internal control audit programs to mitigate risks and safeguard assets, inventory, data and cash.
Perform a yearly review and analysis of the Document Retention policy and compliance.
Conduct routine internal audits to ensure that the food bank is operating in accordance with regulations and present findings and recommendations to the management team.
Monitor internal controls and processes on a regular basis.
Assess effectiveness of operational processes and internal controls and identify opportunities for improvement.
Monitor reported issues and deficiencies, including follow up and validation of management remedial actions.
Provide subject matter expertise for warehouse processes and procedures.
Develop and Lead the organization’s Business Process Review Initiative.
Develop, establish, implement and maintain quality assurance programs, audits, policies, processes, procedures and controls.
Perform monthly audits of the inventory cycle count program.
Assist with the annual fixed asset verification.
Manage the electronic Contracts review process and library.
Analyze all new contracts for any changes that could affect the auditing program and notify senior management on any changes that affect the operation of a specific program.
Recommend staff for remedial training on approved processes when necessary.
Maintain good working relationships with co-workers and external auditors and/or inspectors.
Maintain required job knowledge and skills and core professional competencies.
Attend and participate in required educational programs and staff meetings.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Present findings to management on a regular basis with recommendations for improvement

Supervisory Responsibilities

Manage the work and development of the Compliance Specialist


Bachelor’s degree (BA. or BS.) in accounting, finance, business or related field from accredited university or college.  Five to seven years of process management and/or internal audit experience in a warehouse environment or corporate environment, which includes knowledge of internal controls, business process reviews, and established investigative methods. Preferred certifications Internal Audit certification/specialization, Inspector General certification, Compliance and/or Ethics certification, ISO certification and/or Lean, Six Sigma Certification. Willingness to work beyond normal working hours, when necessary.  Must possess outstanding leadership abilities, multitasking, time management and communication skills.  Must possess strong attention to detail, analytical and problem solving skills.  Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Flow charting software experience a plus (i.e. Visio).

Salary:  $55,178.34 – $82,767.51 Commensurate with Experience
