Mary Jane Cooper, Esq.

Mary Jane Cooper recently completely a 5 1/2 year term as New Jersey’s first statewide Inspector General where she uncovered well over a half-billion dollars in waste, rescued $50 million in State funds, and provided evidence for the removal from office of several officials.  Highlights of her tenure include exposure of wasted millions by the $8.6 billion School Development Authority and its reorganization; exposure of mismanagement the over $200 million public/private Meadowlands Redevelopment Project halting the project; and exposure of mismanagement of a $160 million inmate health services contract.  Before her appointment, Ms. Cooper was a partner in the law firm of Stier Anderson and a (Supervising) Deputy Attorney General in the NJ Division of Criminal Justice for a total of 32 years of investigative and integrity services.  She is a graduate of the College of New Jersey and Rutgers University School of Law, Camden.
