John D. Brill, Director of the Audit Department for the Port Authority of NY and NJ

John Brill is the Director of the Audit Department for the Port Authority of NY and NJ, a position he has held since 1995. In his capacity John directs the work of a staff of 76 professionals  doing a broad spectrum of internal audits,  including reviews of business processes, operations, and  information systems and technology, as well as   audits of  percentage agreement tenants and maintenance,  service and construction contractors that do business with the PA.  John is a career employee of the PANYNJ who recently celebrated his 40th anniversary with the organization.  Before being Director of Audit, he held a series of management positions in internal audit and investigations, including Assistant Inspector General.

John has a Bachelor of Science degree from Fordham University, and is a Certified Internal Auditor and a Certified Fraud Examiner.   He has been an active member of the Institute of Internal Auditors. John served on the Institute’s Board of Governors of the New York Chapter, is a past President of the New York Chapter and served for several years as a District Director and member of the Institute’s International Board of Directors. In 1999, John received the New York Chapter’s Distinguished Leader Award for his service to the chapter and to the internal auditing profession. Besides the Institute of Internal Auditors, John is also a member of the Association of CFE’s and the Association of Inspector Generals.
