Before the Conference:
Q: When do you need copies of my presentation?
A: As soon as finalized, but no later than October 1, 2022. If you have not done so already, please send your presentation to Corrine Louden, corrine.louden@osig.virginia.gov, and Matt Wilcoxson, matthew.wilcoxson@dc.gov.
Q: What date/time am I scheduled to present?
A: Please review the draft agenda for your presentation date and time. For those presenters that have identified particular dates and times, we have done our best to accommodate your requests. If you have any questions about your schedule, please reach out to the AIG Training Subcommittee Chairperson, Maxene Bardwell at maxene.bardwell@wsscwater.com, to discuss specific requirements.
Q: What formatting do you need my presentation in?
A: Microsoft Powerpoint or PDF.
Q: Will I earn CPEs for preparing and presenting?
A: For information related to CPEs, please contact AIG Program Director, Michael Castrilli at mjcastrilli@inspectorsgeneral.org.
Q: Will AIG reimburse me (lodging, airfare, meals and incidentals) for presenting?
A: Association does not authorize registration waivers, free meals or free hotel stays for members who make presentations. This is not because the Association does not appreciate the services of the members who make presentations. The reason is that the cost of such a policy is prohibitive because it would apply to many speakers.
Day-Of Questions:
Q: Are speakers invited to attend the other sessions occurring on the day of their presentation?
A: Non-AIG member speakers are not charged for registration when they only attend the Annual Training Conference for the morning or afternoon of their own presentation. However, the Association does not authorize registration waivers, free meals or free hotel stays for members who make presentations. This is not because the Association does not appreciate the services of the members who make presentations. The reason is that the cost of such a policy is prohibitive because it would apply to many speakers. Non-member speakers are not charged registration when they only attend the Annual Training Conference for the morning or afternoon of their own presentation.
Q: Are speakers invited to attend the days of the Conference on which they are not presenting, or is the $400 daily registration fee assessed?

Q: Are meals (breakfast, lunch, networking event) provided to attendees as a part of the registration fee, does that offer extend to speakers as well?
A: Speakers may attend an Annual Training Conference luncheon adjacent to the time of the presentation.
Q: Will I have space to warm up/wait before my presentation?

Q: What happens if an unforeseen event occurs the day before or day of, and I am unable to present?
A: Please reach out to the AIG Training Subcommittee Chairperson, Maxene Bardwell at maxene.bardwell@wsscwater.com, to discuss specific requirements.
Q: I am not attending the full Conference; who will I need to coordinate with on the day of my presentation?
A: If you are not a Conference attendee, a member from the Conference planning committee will reach out to you the week prior to the Conference to coordinate.
Q: I am not attending the full Conference; how early do I need to arrive in advance of my presentation?
A: Please be prepared to arrive no later than 60 minutes in advance of your presentation time. The Conference Committee will reach out to you to discuss specific timing and meeting locations.
Presentations:
Q: Can I extend my presentation beyond 50 minutes?
A: Unfortunately, we may only offer timeslots of 50 minutes. Please keep this timing in mind, especially if you consider offering an audience question and answer session during your presentation. Also, please remember that there will be numerous opportunities to engage with Conference attendees to continue discussions related to your presentation.
Q: What A/V equipment will I have available?
A: Beyond microphones and remote slide advancers, please reach out to the AIG Training Subcommittee Chairperson, Rene Febles rfebles@wmataoig.gov, to discuss specific requirements.
Q: Do you support both PC and MAC?
A: We will have laptops in each room preloaded with your presentations. You will not need to provide your own laptop during the presentation.
Q: Will my presentation be recorded?
A: No. The presentation will not be recorded.
Q: Who will have copies of my presentation?
A: Presentations will be used by AIG during your presentation and available to attendees both during and after the Conference via the Conference App.
Q: Will there be media in attendance?
A: No media will be in attendance unless otherwise invited as part of a presentation.
Logistics:
Q: Will AIG pay for my hotel parking on the day of my presentation?
A: Please contact Greg Hill, Executive Director at ghill@inspectorsgeneral.org for more information.
Q: Will AIG pay for my transportation (i.e. Uber/Lyft) to/from the Conference?
A: Please contact Greg Hill, Executive Director at ghill@inspectorsgeneral.org for more information.
Q: Will WiFi be available before/during my presentation?
A: The Conference will have WiFi available to presenters.
Q: What is the purpose of this form?
A: The purpose of the form is to ensure each Conference speaker is aware of, acknowledges, and agrees to abide by AIG’s position of nonpartisanship during any block of instruction or event. The AIG that the form is necessary to safeguard against any potential partisan discourse during the conference that would compromise the nonpartisanship of the IG community – intentionally or inadvertently.
Q: Who needs to sign the form?
A: Any presenter or panelist of the Conference.
Q: Do I need to sign off on the acknowledgment?
A: This is a requirement of the AIG. Should you have any questions about this acknowledgment, please reach out to programsupport@inspectorsgeneral.org for any additional information.
Q: Where do I return the form once signed?
A: Please send the signed form to programsupport@inspectorsgeneral.org
Q: When do I need to provide the signed form to AIG?
A: As soon as possible, but up to October 1, 2022.
